Cryogenic systems are essential to quantum computing because most quantum processors—such as superconducting qubits—can only operate at extremely low temperatures near absolute zero. At these temperatures, electrical resistance disappears, noise is minimized, and quantum states remain stable long enough for computation. Cryogenic environments also protect qubits from thermal interference, enabling coherence, accuracy, and reliable quantum operations. Without cryogenics, modern quantum computers cannot function.
